TAKE A STEP BACK IN TIME ENJOY A TRUE APPLE AND PUMPKIN COUNTRY FESTIVAL

MONMOUTH COUNTY – This Fall, take a step back in time and enjoy the simple life. To the left, watch a blacksmith at work. To the right, a rug loomer practicing her craft. Sip some hand-pressed cider and savor some old fashioned kettle korn at the Ashley Lauren Foundation’s Apple and Pumpkin Festival on Saturday, November 7 (raindate November 14) at Bucks Mill Park, Colts Neck. Festivities will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and there’s sure to be something for everyone.

Experience the Scottish-American Highland Games competition, as seen in movies such as Braveheart and Made of Honor. Competitors from the tri-state area will be competing. The games start at 10 a.m. Onlookers will also have the chance to test their own strength in a stone toss.

Kids can enjoy old fashioned hay rides, face painting, make your own scarecrow, pumpkin painting, scarecrow walking on stilts and pony rides at this family-friendly festival.

Blacksmith, Wooden Barrel, Quilt Making, Rug Looming Demonstrations and Children’s Games from the 1800’s will be provided by Longstreet Farms and Allaire Village

Unique live entertainment will include The Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh Pipe & Drum Band, The Isadora Duncan Dance Company from New York City, singer Kayla Calabrese, the premiere of Monmouth County Kidz-4-Kidz Performing Arts Group, Story Telling by Virginia Amend, Gaelic Folk Singer Mike Maxwell, The Amazing Arni and Ingrid Magic Show and much more.

Enjoy grilled foods, hand pressed cider, candy apples, apple and pumpkin ice cream, roasted corn on the cob, funnel cake, old fashioned kettle korn, home made apple and pumpkin foods to purchase, hand made jewelry and autumn craft vendors. Take part in the “country cooking” atmosphere and enter the festival’s apple and pumpkin pie contest. Blue ribbons will be awarded to the winners.

All proceeds from this event will benefit The Ashley Lauren Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children with cancer and their families.
